Pua Keni Keni
This painting was created in the early days of my relationship with my partner, Chuck. He makes leis from pua keni keni flowers, which have a beautiful, intoxicating fragrance and dry out perfectly. The tree blooms year-round, so he makes leis every day for our community.
One day, while Chuck was teaching me how to string them, I noticed a couple of flowers resting on his table. I decided they’d be a perfect subject for a painting and worked from there.
